🗺️ Where and when is the wedding?
The wedding will take place on 19 July 2025 at Pyrgos Melissourgou, a beautiful historic venue (with a castle!) about a 40-minute drive from central Athens. The venue offers stunning views for our special day (think fairy tale romance). Directions and transportation details will be provided closer to the wedding date.
🏨 Where should I stay?
A) In Athens -
For those wanting to explore the city, we recommend staying in central Athens, just a short drive from the venue. It offers a variety of accommodations and easy access to historical sites like the Acropolis and Plaka.
B) Near the Venue -
If you’d prefer to stay closer to Pyrgos Melissourgou, there are hotels and guesthouses nearby. Note that a car rental may be needed to reach the venue and explore the coast.

🚌 How do I get to the wedding venue?
For out-of-town guests, we will provide transportation to and from the wedding venue, including pick-up from central Athens. More details on pick-up locations and times will be shared closer to the wedding date. If you prefer, you can also take a taxi.
For those who choose to drive, the venue offers ample parking, and directions will be provided.
✨ Will there be other events prior to the wedding weekend?
Yes! We’re planning additional events so we can spend more time with all of you.

☀️ What’s the weather like in Greece during July?
July is one of the hottest months in Greece, with average temperatures ranging from 83°F to 100°F (28°C to 38°C ). Be prepared for the heat (sunscreen, hats for the daytime, a lot of water, bring an insulated water bottle, lightweight clothes, etc.)!
📝 Can you recommend things to do in Greece?
Yes! Greece is full so much to do!! Sharn will prepare a guide of things to do in/around Athens shortly!
🧳 Should I take a vacation before or after the wedding?
Yes! We highly encourage you to visit more of Greece, possibly some islands. Sharn will be more than happy to help you plan your trip, including recommendations for the best islands to visit. If you choose to say in Athens only (and want to do some day trips) or visit some islands, there are loads of options. Talk to Sharn :)
🧸 Are kids invited to the wedding?
Yes! We’re excited to have children join us for our special day. However, please note that daycare and childcare will not be provided during the wedding events. Additionally, since there will be a pool on-site, we kindly ask that parents keep a close eye on their little ones for their safety.
🪪 Are there visas requirements from the USA?
There is a potential for visa requirements for travelers from the USA beginning in 2025. Sharn is watching this space but we recommend checking the latest travel advisories and visa regulations before your trip to ensure you have the necessary documentation.
💶 Should I Carry Cash or Use a Credit Card?
It’s totally up to you, but a combination of both is often the best option. You can either withdraw Euros from an ATM when you arrive at the airport (try not to exchange from the teller - the fee's are high) or exchange some cash before you leave the USA.
Sharn also recommends using a traveler-friendly credit card like the Chase Sapphire card, which offers great exchange rates and purchase protection while traveling (definitely check the card details for more info).
In Greece, credit cards are widely accepted—they want your business and will happily take any form of payment! While locals tend to prefer cash, you’ll have no trouble using your card at most places.
